Job overview
Better Lives is a substance misuse service delivering treatment to residents in Islington. Camden and Islington Trust are the Lead Providers working in partnership with Humankind. This model of treatment was coproduced with our service users who are an integral part of our commitment to service users outcomes.
This is an exciting new way to deliver treatment to people who require treatment for substance misuse issue and whilst offering support to their family and carers. The model has several pathways from shared care in primary care settings to working with the criminal justice pathways to support those in need into the wider treatment model. We deliver a day programme and are committed to supporting our service users through their recovery journey and helping them to further support them into the community to build up their recovery capital to give them the best opportunity for successful outcomes.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a part-time administrative support worker to join one of our Better Lives Substance Misuse Teams. The role will involve working Thursday and Friday and may occasionally include some evenings. The ideal candidates will have a flexible approach to work, work calmly under pressure, show keen attention to detail and have an interest in the work carried out by the services

The partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the North London Mental Health Partnership.
In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The main area of responsibility will be covering reception and answering calls. So, we need someone with a proven record in customer skills and able to prioritise and work under pressure. We work with vulnerable clients suffering substance misuse and sometimes also mental health issues so an empathy for this client group is very important. We will offer support to the candidate and this will allow them an opportunity to gain understanding and learn more about substance misuse issues. Experience of minute taking, and data work would be beneficial but not essential.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
