Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within  the Emergency Department, SDEC and UTC at Kingston. 

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and forward thinking Nurse/AHP Consultant to join and lead the team of qualified ACPs in both the ED ad SDEC departments 

The post holder will provide leadership and clinical expertise to the teams on the wards.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to the clinical role with the ACP's supporting the Medical Team within ED and SDEC.

Main duties of the job

As an autonomous practitioner you will have the ability to lead, influence, and deliver a comprehensive clinical assessment working across medical/nursing and AHP professional boundaries to ensure patients receive the appropriate care, demonstrating complex communication skills, judgement, discretion, and decision making as well as the management of the clinical needs for the patient and family.

You will be passionate in delivering direct clinical care as well as clinical leadership by supporting the nursing and medical workforce, and ultimately, the departmental and Trust vision.

The successful applicant will be responsible for and lead a team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners, trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Emergency Practitioners ensuring they are all working within their scope of practice.

Further enhanced links to clinical audit and research will be of focus and a pivotal role in developing strategies not only for the department but colleagues and departments across the Trust, with care pathways and practice areas being enhanced.
