Job overview

The pharmacy department at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic stores assistant to join our friendly team.   Both the Pharmacy Department and the Trust have a long standing reputation for being a friendly and rewarding place to work.

You must be reliable, highly motivated with good attention to detail and a good level of fitness is required due to manual handling.

Key duties include:

·         Receipt of deliveries from suppliers

·         Supply of medicines to dispensary, the wards and the wider community

·         Carry out a ward top-up service including replenishing stock and checking expiry dates

Main duties of the job

You will need to be computer literate, have good communications skills on both a written and verbal basis and have excellent attention to detail with the ability to work on your own within set boundaries.

You must have previous experience working in a warehouse setting or pharmacy environment.  A good level of fitness is required due to the level of manual handling.

You will be expected to participate in the weekends, Bank Holiday and late duty rotas.

  • Willing to train for or have NVQ Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Services
Desirable criteria
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
