Main duties of the job
- Contribute to occupational therapy assessments, including gathering information from families and patients, and supporting with aspects of functional performance assessments.
- Deliver clinical interventions which aim to optimise a patient’s functional performance, independence and safety.
- Complete access and home visits.
- Recognise risks and be able to modify approach or intervention to minimise risks.
- Report back to qualified Occupational Therapists .
- To make suggestions and offer problem solving solutions regarding interventions.
- Post holder needs to have their care certificate completed

Education/Qualification
Essential criteria
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Willingness and motivation to identify learning needs and means of achieving them
Desirable criteria
- Completion of Care Certificate
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous or current experience of working directly with people, such as in a caring role
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience working within the NHS
- Previous experience as a Therapy Assistant
Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written skills
- Basic maths skills
- Car driver
