Job overview

Currently there is an exciting opportunity within the NELFT Healthcare Informatics Team for a secondment for a Rio/ICT Trainer. The post is mainly based in Kent with the expectation to cover all other NELFT sites including in London.

This role is part of the Informatics Training Team. Reporting to the Digital Training Lead and working within a team of Systems and IT trainers, the post holder will be responsible for the identification and analysis of training needs and the development of associated support materials to deliver high quality training courses which meet the requirements of the Organisation and its stakeholders. Training programmes will focus on improving the use of information technology by all disciplines of staff, and enable healthcare professionals to access, interpret and make better use of available information resources.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.  All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.  As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.  The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

 

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a flexible and comprehensive range of IT training programmes, produce lesson plans and conduct remote and face-to-face, individual and group training sessions for a variety of different clinical and non-clinical groups across NELFT, tailored to meet the differing requirements of end-users.
  • Support and deliver EPR and Agile Training through the Trust Induction
  • Support the Trust Induction, delivering EPR System Training.
  • Provide on-going support and assistance to staff, utilising clinical & IT  systems,  via various training delivery methods; e.g. "Floor Walking”, structured training, webinars, drop-in sessions and one-to-one coaching.
  • Deliver technical systems training for various types of information and clinical system software applications used by NELFT, providing specialist training and advice to
  • Suggest configuration options for the deployed systems, configure and administer the supported clinical systems in line with customer requests and local
  • Create robust systems to effectively co-ordinate, plan and prepare training venues, facilities and materials prior to
  • Maintain accurate training records to assist in the planning of training programmes across NELFT; assist in the collection of training statistics and  provide reports as
  • Develop, prepare, review and continuously update training and support documentation for accredited and non-accredited training programmes to a high quality
  • Develop new training packages, as and when the Trust procures new systems or makes significant changes to existing
  • Support the development of E-Learning modules and create e-Learning support
  • Influence training approaches, structure and formats for all IT software ensuring compliance with NHS guidelines across the whole of the
  • Ensure that IT training is appropriate to support the dynamic requirements of the IM&T strategy and
  • Collate learner feedback on the training delivered and act on recommendations, if
  • Deal with statistical/analytical queries, assessing whether analyses are robust g. investigating data anomalies identified during analyses, instigating corrective action as required.
  • Act as the main interface between the business and the Transformation Team. Serve as a point of escalation for the business
  • Develop good working relationships, and liaise regularly with other work streams within the Informatics Directorate and external Service
  • Attend Department meetings to ensure collaborative working, sharing of knowledge and to understand, support and advocate the Communication and Change Management working stream objectives throughout the
  • Ensure that all training participants comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and adhere to the Trust’s IT Security policies, observing a high degree of confidentiality at all
  • Provide cover for other support teams and the Training Administrator, as required.
