Job overview

  • To assist qualified nursing staff in the delivery of care to patients
  • To seek clarification from trained staff wherever the post holder is uncertain about their responsibilities or duties at any
  • Liaising with other multidisciplinary teams for patient information
  • Ensure that all patient and discharge areas are equipped, tidy, and ready for use
  • To assist in the first line maintenance of medical devices, maintain clinical stock levels in each
  • Assist trained nurse in the timely discharge of patients
  • Computer skills – accessing CERNER, EPRO, ICE and Endo vault.
  • Taking and recording accurate vital signs and highlighting concerns to trained nurse

To  work  alongside a registered nurse  to   manage  stock  and consumables  in the unit . 

Main duties of the job

·         Be able to locate all policies relating to good working practice within the clinical areas and adhere to them

·         You will assist the nursing staff in the delivery of care to patients whilst under (close) supervision. This will involve working in the procedure room with senior staff and the delivery of basic nursing care and the safe handling of patients

·         Assist in physiological measurements within agreed

·         Preparation of equipment for use and running calibration

·         Ensure the safekeeping of the patient’s property and valuables within the Trust

·         Be aware of your competence and acknowledge your own boundaries by asking for assistance as required

·         Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situation
