The resuscitation team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is expanding its well established service and is therefore hoping to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated registered healthcare professionals to join our team.

You must have a suitable professional clinical qualification (e.g. Registered General Nurse, Operating Department Practitioner or Registered Paramedic) and be registered with a professional body. Applicants will need at least three years clinical experience including the delivery of teaching clinical skills to range of healthcare professionals and will need to hold a current RCUK ALS provider and/or EPALS provider status.

Previous experience in resuscitation training would be advantageous.

The position offers the opportunity to develop high-quality teaching skills in resuscitation to all members of the multidisciplinary team. Participation as an active member of the cardiac arrest team is expected.

The posts will be based at Northwick Park Hospital but will also require travel to Central Middlesex Hospital and Ealing Hospital on a frequent basis.

You will be working within a friendly and supportive team who are committed to your professional development and the development of the resuscitation service.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

Main Duties 

(Under the guidance of the Lead Resuscitation Officer / Resuscitation Service Manager and in conjunction with all members of the resuscitation service)

Education and Training

  1. To deliver and assess competency in Basic, Immediate and Advanced Life Support training in both adult and paediatric patients as per trust policy.
  2. To assist in ensuring that all members of the cardiac arrest team and all necessary holders of the resuscitation pagers are trained and competent in the current resuscitation protocols, including the operation of relevant equipment

Managerial

  1. To develop and maintain close links with managers of staff groups being trained to ensure minimum disruption to the service concerned.
  2. To maintain and update computerised, confidential records of all medical, nursing, para-medical and ancillary staff trained in resuscitation skills and to provide regular audit reports on these records.

Professional and Clinical

  1. To participate, when available, in the Resuscitation Team as an active member of the ‘cardiac arrest team’ and ensure that quality standards are being maintained. (Adult, Paediatric and Trauma)
  2. Provide clinical Supervision, support and guidance to members of the cardiac arrest team.

Personal Responsibilities

  1. To take personal responsibility for professional growth and to keep up to date with resuscitation and audit developments.
  2. To promote a positive and professional image at all times by acting in a courteous manner.
