Job overview
The post holder's prime responsibility will be to support the provision of orthodontic and associated dental technology services for the Orthodontic department.
The post holder will be required to construct a broad range of removable, fixed and functional orthodontic appliances,. the post also requires the holder to perform minor constructive work in Oral Surgery
Main duties of the job
The construction of a broad range of routine and complex fixed and removable orthodontic appliances.
Providing a same-day service for orthodontic retainer appliances
To undertake the duties of an Orthodontic Technologist following clinical prescription
To support the department in selection, procurement and function of 3-D scanning technologies with 3-D scanners and 3-D printing in dental laboratory setting for production and where appropriate of printed models and appliances. To be responsible to keep up to date with current scanning techniques, software, and equipment updates.
The construction of high-quality orthodontic study-models.

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered with the GDC as a Dental Technologist
- BSc Degree in Dental Technology or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- knowledge of general dental techniques
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working in a hospital setting
Skills
Essential criteria
- Basic IT skills
- High level of hand/eye co-ordination and manual dexterity

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
