Education & professional Quali
Essential criteria
- Registered nurse
- First level degree in nursing or working towards
- Recognised teaching or mentorship qualification
- Post registration qualification relevant to specialty – Renal Course
- Advanced assessment skills or willingness to undertake
Desirable criteria
- Masters degree or working towards
Experience
Essential criteria
- Substantial post-registration experience in area of speciality – Renal Nursing / Peritoneal dialysis
- Experience of teaching junior members of staff
- Experience of mentoring and assessing student nurses on placement
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of research and audit
- Undertaken nurse led clinics
- Experience of developing innovative practice and managing change
Skills and Aptitudes
Essential criteria
- Expert specialist skills for the post – Renal Nursing
- Knowledge of current advances and pathways of care relevant to specialty
