Job overview

This post offers an exciting opportunity for an individual to work within Homerton Sexual Health Services. The postholder will work as part of a small administrative team to support the administration and facilitation of the HSHS Psychology Team. This role is integral to the smooth and efficient running of administrative processes for and within the sexual health service, particularly within the psychosexual pathway. 

The postholder will work closely alongside the Psychosexual Lead, to ensure all administrative and operational procedures are in place in order to meet the KPI’s for the service. This includes the everyday administration of the service, supporting the trainee psychosexual therapists’ induction, contributing to the safe management of waiting lists, and the production of quarterly KPI reports. The development of an appropriate clinical role will be established in order to meet academic requirements as well as service needs.  

The post holder will have good written and verbal communication skills and be highly organised; the post-holder will be the first point of contact for clients, and other professionals/agencies during the process. The postholder will be required to manage and monitor tight time frames as part of the process, escalating any issues to line management and / or the designated officers as appropriate; this will include management of information, records, calenars, databases, correspondence and reports. 

Main duties of the job

·         To develop and manage systems for efficient administration and co- ordination of care, training & research.

·         To report immediately any incidents affecting staff, users or visitors on health service property in accordance with Trust policies.

·         To manage diaries, work plans and project plans as required.

·         To carry out other clinical and administrative tasks as appropriate to the post holder’s grade.

·         To maintain the onward referral database for patients that are not accepted into the service. 

·         To provide excellent communication skills to ensure a quality and friendly service is offered within Homerton Healthcare to professionals and clients.

·         To book appointments, clinics, and assist with the onboarding of trainees to the service. 

·         The postholder will manage incoming and outgoing communication following referrals with patients and referrers in liaison with the Psychosexual Lead. 

·         The postholder will be responsible for the psychosexual trainee induction and ongoing administrative support. 

·         To attend the weekly Psychology team meetings and take minutes and actions.
