Main duties of the job

The post holder will be one of the band 6 junior sister/charge nurses’ team, creating strong senior leadership, working closely with the Sister / Charge Nurse.  To work on a rota working over 7 days 8am – 8pm.

A well led team who provide patients with the safe & compassionate World Class Care that we would expect for ourselves or loved ones

Leadership opportunities combined with senior nurse mentorship

The opportunity to provide Outpatient nursing a variety of specialities in a supportive CDC environment with a strong multi - disciplinary team

The post holder will be expected to:

Develop skills as a positive role model, who has the ability to reflect on practice & has a willingness to develop leadership & management skills with support & guidance.

Possess good communication skills working closely with individuals & teams to develop & maintain services.

Dedication to provide a high standard of service & a flexibility to cover needs of service to ensure success & fulfilment

Evidence of continuing professional & personal development

Support the CDC services when there is a medical emergency, managing unwell patients within all specialities and patients affected by adverse reaction to contrast.

Provide simulation training for CDC services for medical emergency scenarios.

  • First level registration
  • First level degree in Nursing or working towards
  • Recognized teaching or mentorship qualification or working towards

  • 12 months Outpatient experience

Experience

  • Significant post registration experience of acute nursing, ideally in outpatients
  • Experience in delivering evidence based practice
  • Experience in mentoring junior staff
  • Experience of shift management
