We have been working together in a Partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust for some time, with a single Chair and Chief Executive since 2021 and single Executive Team since 2022. We launched our North London Mental Health Partnership Strategy in May 2023 and in July 2023 our Boards agreed that coming together to create one new Trust is best for our service users, our staff and our local communities. Subject to final approvals, we will be formally established as one new Trust on 1 October 2024.

Job overview

We are looking for an 2 administrators who have excellent communication, computer, team building and interpersonal skills. We require a dynamic and motivated individual who is able to liaise with acute mentally ill people and work as part of a busy team within a secure setting

The posts are based in Enfield Adult Acute Wards, based in Chase Farm Hospital. You will be a team player who is able to work on their own initiative, ensuring the team is supported and actively help to ensure the ward runs smoothly and efficiently and have the ability to priorities their work load. The successful person will be able to work in a challenging and interesting environment and possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. You will be computer literate and conscientious and able to deal with confidential service user issues.

Main duties of the job

Previous experience of working in a customer care or patient care role as well as working in an administrative role or office environment is essential. Previous experience in Mental Health setting would be desirable.

The ideal candidate will:

In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria
  • NVQ2/3 or equivalent or relevant practical experience

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential criteria
  • Managing busy workload and conflicting priorities
  • Handling confidential and sensitive information in accordance with the Data Protection Act
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and their carers
  • Good knowledge and proficiency of Trust systems to include, RiO, e-financials
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in Mental Health Setting

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Essential criteria
  • Good knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft packages to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and their carers
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues and senior staff internal and external to the Trust
