Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist/Family Therapist to join the Community CYPMHS Service in Enfield Neurodevelopmental Team and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a great location (the post is based at Bay Tree House in Enfield). This is a full-time post, but we are also open to applications for part time/flexible working.

 

 

Main duties of the job

The Job Holder will be part of Neurodevelopmental team within Enfield CAMHS providing neurodevelopmental service to clients referred to the autism and ADHD pathway. The Job Holder will be expected to undertake specialist neurodevelopmental assessments in order to contribute to the diagnostic process and to formulate areas of strengths and needs based on good practice and evidence in neurodevelopmental assessment and intervention. Delivery of neuropsychological assessment and psychological therapy may also be required.  The Job Holder will be expected to support their team, department and organization to achieve the Trust’s Values in their day-to-day work.  These are:

  • The Job Holder will provide an efficient, effective, comprehensive and specialist assessment and intervention service for children and young people referred to the neurodevelopmental assessment and to provide this service to their carers/parents and families.

·       The Job Holder will provide and/or support the provision of evidence based neurodevelopmental and psychological interventions for service users.  This will include providing specialist assessment and contributing to multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment of children and young people referred to the Neurodevelopmental team. 

  • The Job Holder is expected to liaise with and offer advice or consultation on clients’ psychological care to parents and/or carers, colleagues, professional and non-professional staff in mental health services and appropriate agencies.

·       The Job Holder will undertake risk assessment and risk management for clients and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.

Person specification

Education

Essential criteria
  • Professional qualification in clinical psychology or counselling psychology
  • Experience of undertaking neurodevelopmental assessments including autism and ADHD.
  • Practical experience administrating ADOS-2
  • Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC),
Desirable criteria
  • Practical experience administrating 3di or ADI-R.
  • Experience of cognitive assessments (WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, WAIS-IV)
  • Experience of teaching and training.
  • Implementing audit or research in a healthcare setting.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Basic awareness of IT and IT skills
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and development

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of undertaking neurodevelopmental assessments including autism and ADHD.
  • Excellent knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions and related mental health problems
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of cognitive assessments (WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, WAIS-IV)
