West London NHS Trust  provides a full range of mental health, community  and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Ealing IAPT is seeking to recruit a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) who have undertaken the specialist PWP IAPT training and are looking to progress their career as part of our supportive and highly regarded team. We have a very well-established step 2 team, consisting of trainee and qualified PWPs. We provide a wide range of CBT-based interventions, such as groups, one to one sessions (face to face and telephone), and online therapy (cCBT), in addition to the telephone and face to face assessments. We will offer the successful candidate with the opportunity to co-facilitate a step 3 group, attend further training, and to gain experience in carrying out audits relevant to the service.  i would

Senior PWPs have clinical variety and deliver sessions over the telephone, face-to-face, online, and in groups. There is a need to be able to work flexibly, with sessions in different locations across Ealing and Southall.

In order to provide a service which is accessible to our clients, all staff are required to provide an evening session. We will consider part-time hours for the right candidates.

  • A qualified PWP who has successfully completed an IAPT PWP training course and has significant post qualified experience.
  • Able to deliver high quality person-centred interventions that reflect local and national priorities and targets
  • Able to demonstrate good therapeutic relationships with people
  • An inspirational and collaborative team player with excellent communication skills committed to improving access to psychological therapies across the Ealing borough

Qualifications

  • IAPT Low Intensity worker/Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification
Meini prawf dymunol
  • An upper second class honours degree or higher in Psychology.
  • Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
  • Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis

Experience

  • Significant experience in working with people with mental health problems and/or other disabilities
  • Ability to demonstrate substantial post qualifying experiences in offering and delivering the range of evidence based IAPT low intensity interventions such as CCBT, Guided Self -help & workshops
  • Consolidated & reflective supervised post qualifying experience within an IAPT Service

  • Experience of paid work as an Assistant Psychologist or Graduate Mental Health worker, with supervision from an applied Psychologist
  • Experience in providing supervision to others within a therapy/helping profession setting
  • Experience of working with clients who present with risk to self
  • Experience of working with individuals whose children are subject to Child Protection legislation
  • Experience of co -working with staff in other agencies (e.g. health visitors or staff in drug and alcohol services)
  • Experience of audit and research

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of different models of mental health/mental illness
  • Knowledge of NHS Policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Knowledge of working sensitively with diversity (including working with black minority ethnic groups)
  • An awareness of severe and enduring mental health presentations (including psychosis, bi -polar)
  • Knowledge of outcome measures and their use in clinical and audit purposes
  • An ability to apply existing psychological knowledge to a mental health context
