An exciting opportunity has risen to join London North West University Hospitals Radiology Department.
The role is primarily based at the newly built Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Ealing Hospital, aimed at providing new diagnostic capacity to the local community as well as the wide NW London sector. With new state of the art imaging equipment. This includes 2 MRI and CT scanners 4 U/S rooms and X-ray and DEXA rooms; the centre operates 7 days a week from 08:00-20:00.
As a highly motivated and experienced Reporting Radiographer you will autonomously produce high quality reports for the x-ray department, enabling timely diagnosis for predominantly GP referrals which will account for at least 50% of your working week.
Working as part of a team, you will carry out diagnostic imaging, participate in and develop radiology clinical governance, audits and teaching. You will also supervise and mentor (where appropriate) Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, Radiology Assistants and Student Radiographers in their practice.
You may be required to work at other sites.

To provide advice to healthcare professionals on the interpretation of images as and when required.
Provides verbal report and advice to any health care professional on the interpretation of imaging procedures, within the post holders scope of practice as and when required.
To manage various aspects of the day-to-day running of the department under the guidance of the Radiology Managers. Including being a first port of call for the department, reallocating of staff based on need, managing the workload and dealing with complaints.
Communicates to patient’s condition released information e.g., cancer patients, learning difficulties and paediatrics. Also communicates results to patients where appropriate, providing information and advice when needed. This can include imparting sensitive patient diagnostic information.
Perform IV cannulation and administers IV drugs e.g., contrast and pharmaceuticals and assesses contra-indications.
Demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate current research, apply to practice and disseminate findings at a local level and national level.
