Job overview

This is a full time new post comprising of 10 programmed activities. 

The appointee in conjunction with the 4 other Consultant Haematologists will provide a comprehensive laboratory service and BSH level 2b clinical service (intensive chemotherapy services) with in-patient, out-patient, day care, management and educational responsibilities. They will partake in the 1:5 on call rota.  There is a variable and interesting patient cohort including haemato-oncology, haemostasis and haemoglobinopathy.

MRCP and FRCPath or equivalent with a broad experience in clinical and laboratory haematology are a requirement for this post. A specialist interest in Haemato-oncology would additionally be ideal.

Essential criteria
  • Medical degree, MRCPath and FRCPath or equivalent, GMC registration

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of managing haematology patients in a broad range of haematology sub-specialties
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of independently managing haematology patients in all sub-specialties.
