We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 4 Endoscopy Booking Administrator to join our friendly and busy team of health professionals in the Endoscopy Unit at Croydon University Hospital. This will be a fixed term contract (12 months) to cover maternity leave absence.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors to the department and will be expected to provide comprehensive administrative/clerical and reception services. We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team and to prioritise/organise their own workload.
The right candidate will be sympathetic and sensitive to the requirements of staff, patients and other service users, whether communicating by telephone or face-to-face, including dealing with difficult or demanding situations.
In return, we offer structured training in a supportive environment.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including Grade C or higher in English and Maths (2) (2)
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (1) (1)
Desirable criteria
- On-going personal development courses/interests
Experience and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of DM01 standard
- Experience with managing PTL (patient tracking list)
- Understanding of Endoscopy terminology e.g procedure/diagnosis/treatments
- Understanding of 2WW, Urgent, Routine diagnostic timeframes
Desirable criteria
- Attendance at MDT meetings
- Ability to manage excel spreadsheets to incorporate accurate data
Qualities
Essential criteria
- Familiar with working in a fast paced environment with time constaints
- Demonstrates understanding of importance of maintaining privacy and dignity
- Ability to work seamlessly with clinical and non-clinical colleagues
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
