The Media Services department forms part of the Scientific Facilities Division and consists of the Central Technical Discard (CTD) Section and the Production Section.

In addition to this an equipment washing and sterilisation service is provided for all laboratories on site but particularly the Food, Water and Environmental testing laboratory.

The Production Section is responsible for the production of ready-to-use culture media and ancillary reagents and distributes pre-poured media to Public Health Microbiology Laboratories.
