An opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinician to join our NELFT NHS Foundation Trust community children's services team in Redbridge.  If you enjoy working in an integrated multi-disciplinary team and have the background, experience and proven track record in developing and delivering a high standard of care for young people and families then this is the post for you. You will be the lead OT in our special schools which will involve working with children with complex physical needs.

The post-holder we are seeking will be a highly skilled qualified clinician, who can demonstrate leadership skills in the clinical spheres of occupational therapy. 

The role is based in Newbridge special schools, and you will include setting up a research-based and outcome-based approach.

You will be responsible to lead an established team of band 6 occupational therapists and band 4 assistants who currently work in the schools and will be instrumental in creating and implementing new care pathways.

This post does not include any management responsibilities and you will be the clinical specialist OT for the special schools only.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.  All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.  As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.  The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 p.a. pro rata for part time).
