Trosolwg o'r swydd

The Trust is recruiting a Nurse Consultant Reducing Restrictive Practice for a 12-month secondment. The successful candidate will work as an autonomous practitioner providing senior expert, evidence-based practice to staff regarding restrictive practice and management of violence and aggression. Putting the patient at the centre of decisions and practice will be essential as well as the drive to coproduce. The post holder will lead on the Use of Force Act for the Trust.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working in a trust with clear aspirations to provide outstanding care across geography and an enviable range of services.

This role will appeal to someone who wants to lead the development and delivery of evidence-based restrictive practice across the Trust and Provide expert advice on restrictive practice issues within the Trust and externally, at local and national level.

 

The postholder will be expected to work autonomously as a credible independent practitioner making key decisions and to make clinical judgements involving highly complex facts or situations, which require the analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options.

 Applicants must have the ability to build positive and effective professional relationships, work with a range of experienced leaders and be a credible nurse in practice

  • • Masters degree relevant to the field
  • • Evidence of extensive post registration professional development.

  • • PhD in health related field
  • • Post registration qualification relevant to the field
  • • Registered general nurse

Knowledge

  • • Advanced knowledge and understanding of health care provision and the current policy agenda: mental health, restrictive practice, management of violence and aggression, nursing.
  • • Up to date research evidence in the field

  • • Knowledge of quality standards & policy regarding current Mental Health, Restrictive Practice , Management of Violence and Aggression best practice, guidance and legislation recommendations.

Experience

  • • Proven track record of caseload management of people with co-morbid mental health and substance use problems
  • • Experience of working clinically in mental health and substance misuse.
  • • Work in a range of settings eg inpatient, community, residential
  • • Development and implementation of strategies/policies/protocols
  • • Identifying and establishing collaborative relationships across professional groups and organisations, and managing those relationships with sensitivity and diplomacy.
