Job overview

An opportunity has arisen to join this forward thinking team, providing a clinical service. The PARRT team at Barnet currently provide a 24/7 service .This dynamic team attends all adult & paediatric emergency calls and patients at risk of acute deterioration, offering advice and support to clinical teams outside of Critical Care on many aspects of patient management. The team also reviews all discharges from the intensive care unit, some of whom require long-term tracheostomy weaning and follow-up.

 Along with this the team is responsible for delivering education to Trust staff on all aspects of deteriorating patient care, from initial assessment to advanced resuscitation. The team is involved in aspects of Quality Improvement work relating to the management of deteriorating patients. Through collaboration with clinicians and governance facilitators, we strive to deliver and promote patient safety.

 

Main duties of the job

To support Nurses and Junior Doctors looking after higher acuity patient at ward level

To attend all Adult Paediatric and Obstetric Emergency Calls

To Review all ICU stepdown Patients to facilitate a smooth transition to ward level.

To be involved in looking after Patient with tracheostomy's and be involved in MDT discussions

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To support Nurses and Junior Doctors looking after higher acuity patient at ward level

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Recognised teaching or mentorship qualification
  • Post registration qualification relevant to specialty

  • Masters degree or working towards
  • Independent nurse prescribing course or willingness to undertake

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial post-registration experience in area of speciality
