  • Annual Leave: Starting at 27 days a year, rising to 33 days after 10 years plus eight bank holidays (for staff covered by Agenda for Change) For Medical Workforce positions (Consultant and Specialty Doctor), the full-time entitlement commences from 32 days per annum. For all other Medical Workforce positions, the full-time entitlement commences from 27 days per annum.
  • Bank working: The chance to work extra hours at enhanced rates and we will pay you weekly too, ideal if your income needs a quick boost.

Respiratory Pathway Improvement Lead – Specialty Medicine

Are you a forward thinking, innovative and dynamic individual who likes a challenge? Then we want you to come and join our Respiratory Team.

Funding has been secured for a new, fixed term project role, working within the Respiratory Medicine Team.  The post is specifically focused on improvement of our Respiratory pathways, particularly the integration between ULHT and LCHS now that we are one Group (Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group).  This work is part of a wide system pathway review as part of Lincolnshire ICB LACE programme.

 

The role would be suitable for someone with an interest in elective care improvement and recovery, someone who has project management experience and would like to work within the Specialty Medicine team to ensure delivery of agreed priorities.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

·         Work with the wider CBU and clinical teams to lead, identify, develop and improve respiratory pathways.

·         Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, within secondary care, and the wider system, to support the wider Respiratory Strategy and Cancer Agenda 

·         Implement and monitor effective processes and procedures delivering service improvement and delivery of key projects or pathway improvements

We are especially interested in candidates who have a background of successful service improvement, working from concept to delivery, who can demonstrate the delivery of a balanced set of outcomes aligned to the priorities of the acute sector. Additionally, you will be politically astute, with a clear understanding of the national, regional and local healthcare priorities.

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of health service management, including change management and workforce redesign, acquired through training and experience to Masters level or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Project Management Qualification e.g. PRINCE2
  • Service improvement methodology training e.g. QSIR

Previous Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of specialist knowledge and expertise and experience in Project Management with a general awareness about project management methodologies.
  • Experience of improvement within a politically challenged area
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting
  • Experience of patient pathway change / redesign
  • Experience of working with, or managing, Cancer pathways
