Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) is rated as an outstandingly well-led Trust by the CQC and is committed to innovation and transformation. To bolster our efforts and continue to provide high quality, patient focussed services, we are seeking a specialty doctor to join the community mental health team, as part of our older people and frailty division. The role is full-time at 10PAs per week.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
To provide a comprehensive psychiatric service to the older people of southwest Lincolnshire. This entails assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of organic and functional disorders in over 65s, although younger adults meeting certain eligibility criteria on the local transitional protocol may be suitable for the service. To play a role in the development of the Community Mental Health Team for older people. As an integral member of an MDT there will be an expectation to participate in local weekly team meetings where cases are discussed, and management plans formulated. The role of the developmental specialist psychiatrist within the team is to deal with complex cases and support other members of the team so that they practice independently as much as possible. To be familiar and up to date with relevant mental health and capacity act legislation in relation to the care of older people. There will be a requirement to carry out mental health act and capacity assessments when required. To contribute to the education and training of medical students, doctors in training and other allied health professionals. This may include formal planned sessions although most of the education would occur by working alongside ward-based teams.
