We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic ward clerk/admin assistant to join our team!

We are an 18 bedded Oncology/Haematology Ward consisting of all side rooms, with the potential addition of an Oncology Assessment Unit.  We care for acutely unwell patients receiving inpatient chemotherapy regimens, complications post chemo for example neutropenic sepsis, spinal cord compressions, hypercalcaemia, SVCO, immunotherapy related toxicities, symptom management and end of life care. Our Chemotherapy trained nurses also triage chemotherapy patients over the phone and accept direct admissions to the ward.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Ward Clerk  who is flexible in their approach and willing to undertake all tasks involved in this busy but rewarding role.

The Ward Clerk duties will include: communicating will all visitors to the ward, answering the telephone, updating Careflow (computer system) with all admissions / discharges.  Ensuring all medical notes and current inpatient notes are filed correctly, oversee ordering and ensuring stationary stock is well maintained. Organizing and scheduling outpatient appointments including chemotherapy appointments and ensuring triages are inputted appropriately.

The above list is not exhaustive as you will also be expected to support with the collection of data that is completed on a monthly basis. This data is specific to the ward.  

We are therefore looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills to be a friendly welcome for our patients and their loved ones. You must possess excellent customer service skills.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.

 

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

 

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
