To bolster our efforts and continue to provide high quality, patient focussed services, we are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team in Boston and Louth , as part of our Adult Inpatient patient division. We are looking for a doctor who is passionate and committed to the development of crisis care psychiatry.

The role is full-time at 10PAs per week, with an additional PA paid as a recruitment and retention premia. We are keen to speak to anyone interested in this role who is looking for a flexible working arrangement which may include job share, part time, compressed hours and we are open to discuss an element of hybrid working.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a comprehensive CRHT psychiatric service for adults aged 16 to 65years. The catchment population, which is from 16 to 65, is approximately 136,000. CRHT have caseload discussions and has overall supervision of full-time specialty doctor in Crisis Team.  The caseload is not direct and predominately the number on the caseload remains small.
  • Take a lead in the management of complex cases.
  • Provide clinical leadership to the team.
  • Support assessments of new patients and formulate treatment plans.
  • To use evidence-based treatment and follow local and national guidelines.
  • To work collaboratively and liaise with other teams within the Trust, other NHS organisations and third sector providers.
  • To use the Mental Health Act, as appropriate, within the course of their duties.
  • To provide medical treatment within a model of multi-disciplinary care.
  • Liaising with general practitioners and medical specialists with regards the physical health of the patients
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date clinical records in line with local protocols and procedures.
  • To be available to act as a Section 12(2) and DOLs approved doctor for the purposes of the Mental Health and Capacity (DOLs) Assessments.
  • To be mindful of and actively involved in current safeguarding practices.
  • To be involved in the assessment and management of urgent and routine referrals.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice - Included on the GMC Specialist register, or within 6 months of completing.
  • Approved Clinician status, or able to achieve within 3 months of completing.
  • Approved under Section 12(2) or able to achieve within 3 months of completing.
  • MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Desirable criteria
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
