Work within the financial budget allocated to your specialty, in collaboration with the line manager Ophthalmic practitioners, Service Manger and General Manager
Promote improvements of quality and clinical effectiveness within resource constraints.
Deliver any relevant clinics for your service, to meet performance targets within specialty.
Act as a positive role model through the provision of effective professional leadership for relevant clinical areas and demonstration of competent and accountable clinical practice.
Act as an adviser/educator and role model to less experienced doctors, nurses and therapists (MDT) to ensure appropriate care is planned, implemented and evaluated.
Be accountable for one’s own professional practice and professional development and ensure registration and compliance with the NMC and the Code of professional Conduct or other relevant regulatory body for the discipline.
Support junior members of staff to do the same.
Facilitate supervision of post-registration health professionals, students and all learners wishing to extend their knowledge of your specialty.
To participate in cross-site working to deliver equitable care, regardless of hospital site, for all patients within the scope of specialism
Line manage Advanced HCA staff within the medical retina team
Provide Ophthalmic photography for Medical Retina and the Ophthalmic service.
Scrub in the clean room, supporting the Ophthalmic practitioners, Consultants and AOP to deliver outpatient procedure lists.
Admin and discharge patients

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.

The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.

Assistant Professor in Dietetics

Location: Sutton Bonington

Salary: £40,521 to £56,021 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the above post from UK registered Dietitians (or those eligible for registration). This offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in the dietetic education at the University of Nottingham and would be suitable for candidates with prior experience in higher education or practicing Dietitians who wish to embark on such a career. Applications are particularly welcome from those who have recent experience of working in public health or associated areas.

The post is based within the Division of Food, Nutrition and Dietetics in the School of Biosciences. The School offers a four-year integrated undergraduate Master’s degree in Dietetics and Nutrition (MNutr) leading to eligibility to apply for registration in dietetics with the Health and Care Professions Council. The Division also delivers other Nutrition-related degrees, including a three-year BSc degree in Nutrition, which has been accredited by the Association for Nutrition, and a BSc in Food Sciences and Nutrition. In addition, we also offer a MSc in Clinical Nutrition, as well as MSc in Nutritional Sciences.

The successful candidate will be expected to predominantly contribute to the teaching and related administration of a number of modules within the programmes associated with our dietetics associated degrees, but they will also make contributions to our nutrition-related degrees.

Current registration as a Dietitian in the UK (or be eligible for such registration) is an essential requirement for the role. A postgraduate qualification in teaching (or equivalent) and/or a higher degree (PhD or Masters) in dietetics or healthcare management are desirable.

This is a full time (36.25 hours), permanent position. Job share arrangements may be considered.

We are excited to offer this opportunity to work as a Skylight Psychologist in our West London service based in Brent. Working as part of a wider team of Clinical Psychologists in Crisis you will be an integral part of the local Skylight team, leading on psychologically informed practice and delivery of psychological services.

This role brings a real opportunity to be creative and flexible in our approach to working psychologically with people who face multiple disadvantages, and to support the staff teams via training and reflective practice. There are opportunities to provide direct support as well as working extensively with local teams and other parts of the organisation to influence policy and practice developments.

We are looking for someone with post qualification experience of working within complex systems and you may have direct experience of working with people who experience homelessness. As we have grown as a service, the team is also able to support more newly qualified Psychologists via our preceptorship program, and so we are pleased to also offer this as a development post.
