Job overview
We are currently looking for an Estates Maintenance Assistant
The role of the Estates Maintenance Assistant is to provide a comprehensive Healthcare building maintenance service to all wards and departments within a multidisciplinary environment, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
To carry out planned and reactive maintenance task to a high standard that is commensurate with the skills and experience for the role.
Main duties of the job
- Carry out work in accordance with current legislation, codes of practice and best practice guidance
- Work safely observing the Trust and departments Health and Safety Policies and procedures.
- Work efficiently using technology to work within Service Level agreements and Key performance Indicators.
- Carry out tasks and communicate failures and non-conformities to line manager.
- To act in a professional manner when undertaking tasks and duties in contact with Patients, Visitors and staff.
- Contribute to the development of the CAFM systems ensuring relevant records are kept up to date and readily available.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To assist Maintenance Craftsperson (in all disciplines) in such duties as instructed by the Team Manager, working under the supervision of the Maintenance Craftsperson.
Undertake unsupervised routine maintenance and minor repair work that does not justify the attention of a fully qualified craftsman, related to his training and/or experience.
To assist other trades as required by the Maintenance Supervisor.
To use all relevant tools and equipment.
To maintain the workshops, stores, switch-rooms, boiler-house and plant-rooms and the surrounding areas clean and tidy as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Compliance with all statutory regulations including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

- Good standard of general education

- Qualification in a building construction of engineering related subject
Experience

- Basic understanding of construction building engineering techniques
