Endoscopy Deputy Ward Leader

NHS AfC: Band 6

We are actively promoting flexible working options, helping you to manage a work / life balance

Trosolwg o'r swydd

We are looking for dynamic, forward thinking B6 registered nurses, to join our endoscopy team at the state of the art Endoscopy Unit in the East Midlands Planned Care Centre (EEMPCC) at Leicester General Hospital. This is a purpose built endoscopy unit, with 6 procedure rooms, 20 individual pods for patients and training facilities.

This is your chance to help shape the future of endoscopy within UHL. Look at new innovated ways  of working, evolve a center of excellence for both endoscopy and training, achieve  JAG accreditation, network through East Midlands Endoscopy Group and take part in research and development.

As well as patients, Staff wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do and you will be supported by the senior management team and the endoscopy clinical educators in your role.

We offer plenty of opportunities for progression to senior roles, specialist nurse roles and nurse endoscopist. We can also offer rotational posts between the EEMPCC and our acute endoscopy department at Leicester Royal Infirmary with opportunities to spend time at the community endoscopy units and the gastro wards if you so desire.

This is a 7 day service covering the hours of 7.30am until 6.30pm with a rota for staff to stay late if needed and an on call night service covering all 3 UHL units.

Gweithio i'n sefydliad

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:

  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
