Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Body and GIGU Interventional Imaging
This is a consultant post in Imaging, Clinical Support & Imaging Services Clinical Management Group (CSI CMG). The new post holder will join an established team of GIGU interventional radiologists.
The post holder will be expected to work closely in the team with the existing radiologists to support the continuing development of imaging within UHL as a whole. The post holder will join the existing Gastro intestinal and Genitourinary (GI GU) IR on call rota and provide GI GU interventional radiology services to the UHL. It is expected that the post holder will also provide GIGU diagnostic imaging.
The appointment will be whole time. Any consultant who is unable for personal reasons, to work whole time, will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis in consultation with consultant colleagues.
A major refurbishment programme of all Trust MRI and CT scanners has recently been completed ensuring the latest technology is available.
The service has strong links to academic and other radiology departments; the opportunity to be involved in research is available for interested candidates. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical governance.

Working For Your Organisation
Our new strategy, 'Leading in healthcare, trusted in communities' was developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners and is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).
We have four primary goals:
- high-quality care for all,
- being a great place to work,
- partnerships for impact, and
- research and education excellence
And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.
Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
- we are compassionate,
- we are proud,
- we are inclusive, and
- we are one team
This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
