Business Admin Apprentice

Apprenticeships: Apprenticeship

We take a flexible approach in terms of what we are able to offer. This means we have a variety of working patterns, full or part-time and we actively promote agile working, i.e. working where it’s most appropriate for an individual to perform their role. You will have a base at Glenfield to attend as and when required but for the majority of the time you will be able to work from home. It will be expected that you have a basic homeworking set up in your home to meet the needs of the role i.e. desk/chair.

So why not join our team and help us to deliver better healthcare, both now and in the future!

Job overview

Are you passionate about engaging with and supporting others in the workplace?  Do you have a drive to kickstart your career in the NHS whilst achieving a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Organisational Developmental and Workforce Team and we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and well-motivated apprentice to develop within our team and organisation. This role will support the team with administrative tasks whilst earning a salary, learning on the job, and gaining an apprenticeship qualification.

Your role will maintain a high standard of professionalism and provide services in line with our values and behaviours. We are looking for people who are punctual, reliable, and smart in appearance and will work in a professional manner.

You will be employed on a 15 -18-month fixed term apprentice contract and work 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday. In return you will receive 27 days leave, plus bank holidays and an annual salary in line with the national living wage. You will have access to the NHS pension scheme and will be supported to achieve your Business and Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship (apprenticeship eligibility requirements apply).

Main duties of the job

The role involves:

  • Providing effective and efficient administrative support to the ICB, working in the Organisational Development and Workforce Team and the wider People and Innovation directorate.
  • Working with supervision from Line Manager to ensure all team systems and functions are organised and run efficiently.
  • Supporting team colleagues with projects and administrative tasks as agreed with your Line Manager.
  • Develop and update visually appealing documents in a professional manner.
  • Support and attend training, workshops, meetings and events, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team and with external partners.
  • Maintain various systems, update records, run reports, and manage training bookings.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment.

Working for our organisation

Integrated Care Boards are at the heart of a new way of working for the NHS, bringing together providers of NHS services with local authorities and other local partners to plan, co-ordinate and arrange health services as part of what is to be known as an Integrated Care System. They are part of a fundamental shift in the way the health and care system is organised – away from competition and organisational autonomy and towards collaboration, with health and care organisations working together to better integrate services, improve population health and reduce health inequalities.
