Enhanced Care Unit (ECU) - Registered Nurse post is for 36 hours per week. 24/7 service working days and nights. 

There is an exciting  Opportunity available at Wrightington Hospital (Centre of Excellence) for you to join a highly motivated, multi-disciplinary team delivering quality patient centred care and patient safety throughout the patient pathway.

We are seeking an exceptional individual who has energy, commitment and enthusiasm to apply for this exciting post within our Enhanced Care Unit and have the ambition and desire to develop your skills within such an environment  The Enhanced Care  unit consists of  6 beds which are utilised flexibly to care for level 1 and 2 patients following surgery. 

Evidence of qualifications listed in the person spec will be requested at interview and during compliance checks. 

 

Main duties of the job

  • Acting as a catalyst in questioning expert professional knowledge within the team influencing application of theory in practice.
  • Identifying, maintaining, evaluating and improving the quality of care through application of evidence based practice within the clinical area.
  • Developing sound clinical skills and competency within their defined field working without direct supervision to ensure the application of professional standards in all aspects of care delivery within the clinical environment.
  • Demonstrating awareness of the appropriateness of transferable skills when providing individualised high quality patient care

The post holder will demonstrate responsibility for:

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • RGN/ODP
  • Current NMC/HPC registration or due to qualify and obtain registration
Desirable criteria
  • Level 1 critical care qualification
  • Degree/Diploma studies
  • Specialists Skills Course.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate ability as professional role model.
  • Experience in the relevant speciality of which you are applying.
  • Experience of working on own and as a member of a team
Desirable criteria
  • Working knowledge of Enhanced Care Unit/post-operative care
  • 6 months experience since qualification
  • Experience of Audit/Research
  • Experience of clinical supervision

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain and improve standards of care
  • Ability to challenge unacceptable behaviour or practice in a professional context.
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of undertaken research/audit
  • Specialist clinical skills within appropriate field
  • Basic Computer Skills
