The Clinical Governance Facilitator develops and supports the systems and processes that underpin all aspects of quality, compliance, safety and risk management in the Division of Medicine including:

CQUIN and quality metrics

This vacancy is open to all internal and external candidates. NHS Employees should ideally secure their line managers agreement for a secondment arrangement ideally prior to applying as this will be a condition of any offer made.
This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term basis for a period of 6 months as it is funded on a non recurrent basis.
Whilst this post is advertised on a fixed term basis there is the potential that this may become permanent in the future.
Candidates are required to present original certificates for qualifications at interview stage.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a wide range of high quality administrative and support duties to the Divisional Head/Deputy Head of Governance and provide administrative and organisational support to the key divisional governance committees.
The post holder will assist in the implementation of the Governance agenda within the Division, including maintenance of robust efficient administrative systems for managing a wide range of governance information and assist in the monitoring of specific projects arising from Governance assessment/reviews.
The post holder will develop themselves to meet the evolving needs of the service, ensuring efficient and effective use of all resources.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To ensure systems and processes are in place to promote patient safety and learning from
incidents. - To utilise the Datix incident reporting system to ensure that incidents are reported and
managed in line with the Trust Incident and Investigation policy. - To monitor the Datix email inbox and action/assist in the daily review of incidents raising trends, identifying and resolving issues identified.
- To be responsible for analysing complex clinical and non-clinical incident data and provide reports identifying trends for directorates.
- To ensure that any incidents requiring rapid review and escalation are identified and undertaken.
- To lead on/participate in investigations, e.g. complaints, incidents, root cause analysis as required.
- To ensure that action plans as a result of an incident, complaint, investigation or risk assessment are monitored and delivered with non-compliance escalated to the Divisional Quality Executive Committee.
- To be responsible for ensuring risk assessments are undertaken, recorded via Datix on relevant risk register and reviewed regularly.
- To support Health and Safety activities and adherence to health and safety guidance.
- To collate, accurately analyse and present data to support and maintain patient safety.
- To ensure systems and processes in place to promote effectiveness and embed learning as a result of service improvement projects.
- To develop systems for Clinical Audit and Clinical Effectiveness to address National/Trust/Local priorities for the division.
- To support the NICE Guidance Co-ordinator in relation to the implementation of NICE Guidance, Technology Appraisals and clinical guidelines within designated clinical teams.
- To be responsible for the monitoring of divisional policies and to support individual authors in ensuring new or reviewed polices taken through the appropriate approval process in accordance with Trust policy.
- To assist the Divisional Head/Deputy Head of Governance in production of the divisional Safe, Effective, Care (SEC) and other key reports and future divisional quality dashboards.
- To collate, accurately analyse and present data to support and maintain effective service delivery
- To assist the Divisional Head/Deputy Head of Governance to ensure systems and processes are in place to promote and embed learning as a result of complaints, concerns and results of patient engagement projects.
- To assist the Trust Patient Public Engagement Lead and Divisional Head of Governance to encourage patient engagement and evaluate the patient/service user experience to improve service delivery.
- To provide reports on trends analysis as a result of concerns and complaints received.
- To collate, accurately analyse and present data to support and maintain a positive patient experience.
- To facilitate root cause analysis required in relation to VTE.
- Any other duties required by Divisional Head of Governance as appropriate

- Experience within an NHS governance related area (e.g. clinical risk management, incidents, complaints, clinical effectiveness, quality and safety
- Working with sensitive/confidential information.
