As an integrated mental health, learning disability and community Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including:

•    Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, forensic services including low and medium secure care.
•    Specialist community support for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism, including intensive support.
•    Community physical health and well-being services for children and adults.

The Trust was first established in 2002 and employs approximately 7,000 staff who provide care from more than 400 sites. We have a fantastic opportunity for two brand new roles as Deputy Directors of Nursing, one for the Pennine Network and one for Central & West Network. These roles will help to bring our ambition to create a culture of joy and pride to life, making LSCft an inclusive, compassionate and safe place to work, where we are always learning, thereby ensuring the delivery of the highest quality of care to our service users, carers and families.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The post holders will play a pivotal role in supporting our Director Nursing and Quality team to deliver high quality care and professional leadership. The successful post holders will need to demonstrate the Trust’s values, be creative and agile in their thinking and work in a fast-paced environment, developing robust and trusting relationships with locality, network and directorate leadership teams as well as with senior Nursing and Quality colleagues and colleagues in the networks.  We are looking for someone who has experience of managing multiple teams and enabling colleagues to flourish at work while balancing multiple priorities.  

For these particular roles there will be an expectation that the successful candidates will be visible and present as it covers a large geographical area, though some flexibility can be discussed.

  • Registered Nurse Mental Health or Learning Disabilities (for C&W Network only this may also be an Adult RN)
  • First Degree (Health subject)
  • Educated to relevant masters degree or prepared to study towards masters with demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge and expertise across a number of areas e.g. clinical, personnel, finance
  • Political awareness of and sensitiveness to the interactions and interdependencies between the NHS and non-NHS organisations

Experience

  • Experience of effective redesign and improvement methodologies
  • Significant experience of engaging clinicians in service redesign and quality improvement
  • Significant professional leadership, especially professional development, clinical governance and supervision
