Main duties of the job

As a volunteer at Preston Hospital Radio, you'll have the opportunity to craft unique radio experiences that leave a lasting impact. From live shows to pre-recorded gems, scripted banter to off-the-cuff charm, there's a place for your style here. Dive into interviews that spark conversation, debates that ignite passions, and events that pulse with energy. Your creativity sets the stage for unforgettable moments.

But it's not just about the airwaves. It's about the community we serve. Through meticulous planning and warm introductions, you'll become the voice that guides listeners through their day. With carefully curated playlists tailored to the moment, you'll set the mood and keep spirits high.

Full training is provided because we believe everyone has the potential to shine behind the mic. So, if you're ready to make waves and make a difference, join us at Preston Hospital Radio. Let's turn up the volume on joy together!

Working for our organisation

We have 400 fantastic volunteers working hard to support the services that we deliver to our patients.  As a Trust, we help look after 370,000 people in our local area & give specialist care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire & Cumbria.

Volunteering with us gives you the knowledge and sense of pride that every activity you do genuinely does make a difference to support our patients & staff, ensuring we keep thriving & delivering outstanding healthcare right across our local towns.

You’ll have access to varied development opportunities, learn new skills, meet fab people & do things you’d never have done.  You’ll learn about working in a hospital, interacting with people from all different roles to build skills.

You’ll make an impact, be challenged to think differently, be bold & help innovate to keep improving things. Everything we do centres around patient care and enhancing their experience which means our volunteers are pivotal and something really to be proud of.
