Our supportive and friendly neurosciences team are based at Royal Preston Hospital which is a regional centre for neurosurgery, neuro rehab and major trauma. Working with a wide range of neurological conditions will equip you with a multitude of transferrable skills including cognitive and functional assessments, across acute services whilst providing rehab to patients awaiting NRU.

We’re excited to welcome you into the team and to support you in the next step of your career to ensure you get the most out of this opportunity so don’t wait any longer, apply today!

The acute Neurosurgery team are a Specialist Regional Service providing assessment and early rehabilitation following neurological trauma, surgery or disease within Lancashire and South Cumbria. The team prides themselves on providing the best possible neurological care for patients whilst increasing their independence, in the acute neuroscience settings.

Within neurosciences a normal day starts with the MDT handover and prioritising your day, then cracking on with assessments of function and cognition, intervention and discharge planning across the five wards.

Active involvement in continuing professional development is a key requirement, alongside a commitment to promote clinical governance and evidence-based practice and therefore we will encourage you to take advantage of any opportunities to develop your practice. Alongside trust training we also have a comprehensive core therapy cognitive and perceptual training programme and therapeutic moving and handling training. We invite in external companies/individuals to support with training as well as our own fantastic team members.

You will be fully supported by having regular supervision and in-service training, as well as team meetings to keep up to date with any important information, to share ideas and to work on service developments.

Gweithio i'n sefydliad

We have 10,000 fantastic people working hard to deliver quality services to our patients.  Whatever your role, you help look after 370,000 people in our local area & give specialist care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire & Cumbria.
