Job overview
A new and exciting opportunity to be #TeamEDs Junior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine and Undergraduate Education.
This 12 month post will be split 60:40 between clinical duties and educational activity.
The successful applicant will work across both hospital sites, gaining experience in working in a Major Trauma Centre and tertiary centre for many hospital specialities as well a District General Hospital and will be exposed to a variety of Emergency Medicine presentations. Educational duties will include supporting and developing the delivery of Medical Education within the Medical Directorate.
Main duties of the job
Clinical duties will include all those duties normally expected of a Junior Doctor (FY2-ST2 equivalent) in similar sized emergency departments in the United Kingdom and will account for 60% of the appointees time.
The educational element will involve liaising with medical specialties to organise a bedside teaching programme to Medical Students from the University of Manchester; co-facilitating on the Undergraduate Simulation Programme; developing and updating scenarios used in the Undergraduate Simulation Programme; helping to deliver in-situ MDT simulation within the medical directorate and facilitating in University of Manchester OSCEs.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
- MBBS or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Part 1 of MRCP/MRCS or MCEM
- Certification in ALS/APLS/ ATLS/ETC
Experience and Skills
Essential criteria
- 12 months of post graduate experience (equivalent to completion of FY1 year)
- Must not have been out of clinical practice for longer than 2 years
- Understanding of the audit process
- ILS or equivalent course
Desirable criteria
- At least 6 months in a substantive NHS post in the UK
- Publication/presentation of original research
Medical Education
Essential criteria
- Experience of teaching and assessing students or trainees.
Desirable criteria
- Completion of CCE (formally OSCE) examiner training

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
