Main duties of the job

We are currently seeking a dedicated Band 6 Registered Mental Health Practitioner to join our Community Mental Health Team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to positively impact the lives of individuals facing complex and enduring mental health challenges. Through innovative approaches like Dialog+, we collaborate closely with service users, understanding their experiences, identifying goals, and providing tailored support to empower them on their journey to wellness.

 

As a valued member of our team, you will have the autonomy to deliver high-quality care while also benefiting from collaborative efforts. Your responsibilities will include connecting service users with vital resources, offering psychoeducation, and co-creating practical coping strategies to help manage symptoms effectively.

  • Recognised Core Mental Health Professional Qualification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Post qualification experience within mental health services. With some of these to have been within acute mental health services.
  • Experience of working with a full range of mental illness
  • Demonstrable experience of providing teaching/training
  • Engagement / working closely with wider agencies (e.g. ASC, housing, 3rd sector)

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Clear understanding of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Care Act and how this influences practice within the CMHT, inpatient and HTT settings
  • Knowledge of up to date practice using research and evidence based learning.
  • Knowledge of Recovery model and approaches and able to demonstrate examples.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex and or clinically sensitive information to service user, their families, and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
  • Well-developed skills in providing clinical supervision and consultation to other professional and non-professional groups
  • Ability to teach and train others, using a variety of multi- media materials suitable for presentations within public, professional, academic settings
  • Ability to work sensitively and supportively with staff who are retraining and/or changing their way of working
