Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible individual to join the Technical Support Team.  Candidate must have proven technical support experience and have relevant experience in an IT support role or equivalent.

The post holder will work as part of the Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust Digital Department.

Also having a solid knowledge of IT Applications such as Windows 10, Office, general desktop applications and operation.  Thorough specialist working knowledge of IT hardware fault analysis, diagnostics and resolution including experience of supporting mobile devices.

You will be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, be able to problem solve and manage your own time well.

Candidate must have a strong customer focused approach, good communication and interpersonal skills as well as having experience of dealing with customers over the telephone or in person with an ability to work under pressure.

Main duties of the job

The post holder duties include:

Work in conjunction with any appropriate third-party support companies as required.

To provide a first-class customer service, making sure all customers are kept fully up to date with their calls as per the agreed SLA for their Clinical Business Unit.

Provide Statistical Analysis & Reports for the IT Service.

Contribute and make recommendations to the continual development of the IT & Service Management policies & procedures for Digital Services.

Work with specialists to find re-occurring issues and look to implement permanent long term fixes.

To assist in streamlining processes within Health Informatics.

To be responsible for monitoring critical SLA targets and intervening when needed to ensure targets are met.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Relevant IT qualification e.g. Microsoft Certification, IT Hardware Vendor and ITIL Foundation or working towards ITIL Qualification essential
  • Relevant IT qualification to Diploma level

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Thorough working knowledge of IT hardware and software in a support context
  • Knowledge of using, installing and supporting Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Extensive knowledge of techniques used for IT software / hardware fault analysis, diagnostics and resolution
  • Knowledge of NHS clinical systems and IT support of those systems

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of providing at desk IT support, installation and configuration services
  • Communication of complex IT issues in a clear and understandable way to non-technical users
  • Experience of working in a ITIL driven environment
