The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and support of the Trusts IT orientated project within the IT Services Department .

The Senior Network Analyst is responsible for maintaining and improving the network infrastructure of the Trust. They will ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization.  The post holder will also be required to problem manage issue that arise due to the deployment of new technology before its handed over to BAU.

Project Engineer will oversee technical projects to assure a high level of accuracy and quality. They work with teams to translate requirements into implementable tasks with practical timelines. They will also collaborate with end user/suppliers  to find and solve any problems within the project plans and budgeting.

On-Call

Please note that senior positions (AFC band 8A or above) may be expected to participate in an on-call rota, if the role is predominantly operational.

Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring assigned technical project tasks

Translating end user requirements and organising practical terms into required timelines to be met by the team

Maintaining cleanliness to ensure health and safety standards on-site 

Resolving any problems with the team, plans and budget to ensure that the project flows smoothly

Identifying potential problems with the project, leading the team into developing solutions and ensuring that they are implemented

Frequent meetings with project teams and suppliers to inform of project progress and constraints

Working with third-party contractors to develop viable time scales and working practices

Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Professional qualification e.g. MCP/MCSE
  • ITIL Foundation Qualification
  • PRINCE 2 Foundation Qualification

  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or other relevant qualification

Experience

  • Experience in designing, developing, supporting, and maintaining core infrastructure services
  • Specific Networking principals including LAN, WAN and networking protocols e.g. TCP/IP, SNMP, Routing and Switching
  • Working in a pressured environment with conflicting demands on time and resource management
  • Planning and Directing projects
  • Experience in team leadership

  • NHS Experience in IM&T
  • Experience of Security related tools, processes and procedures

  • In-depth specialist infrastructure software and proven hardware skills in servers and client devices operating in a 24/7 environment
  • Operating System skills to include all variations of Unix and Microsoft Desktop and Server software
  • Networking skills to include TCP/IP, Switching and Routing, Firewalls and Anti-Virus Protection. Desktop to include all versions of MS Office

  • Knowledge of the use of information and information systems in the NHS
  • Knowledge of ISO27001, Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus
