Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our established team at the “Westmorland Renal Centre” Kendal. We offer in centre Haemodialysis, Home Therapies and Outpatient clinics.

 

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a “can do attitude”. Good communication, interpersonal and team working skills are essential, along with the ability to work flexible shift patterns which include twilight shifts.

 

Training opportunities’ and staff support will be available for continuous professional development.

Main duties of the job

We require the individual to be forward thinking, well organised with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change. In addition to development of clinical skills, candidates must be committed to completing the required clinical skills training that form part of this role. The successful candidate will join our team and deliver a range of care needs to our patients.

You will be responsible for providing a range of personalised care for patients and a range of clinical duties under the guidance and supervision of the team leader/nurse in charge

You will need to be flexible in your working hours to work shifts/unsocial hours including twilights as required

Qualifications & Education

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable numeracy and literacy skills in line with Level 1/Grade D/Grade 3 or above
Desirable criteria
  • GCSE Maths & English grade C or above / Grade 4 - 9 OR Functional skills level 2 numeracy and Functional Skills level 2 literacy skills
  • Level 2 QCF diploma (Qualification Credit Framework) in healthcare / NVQ level 2

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of dealing with the public
  • Be able to demonstrate understanding of the concept and application of confidentiality
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience working in a care environment
