The CT department at Royal Preston Hospital has 4 CT scanners; one in the ED CT department, 2 in the Neuro CT department and a mobile CT scanner based at Preston Healthport.  The role will involve rotation through all the scanners.

Within the CT department we undertake a variety of specialist scans including trauma, oncology, neuro, cardiac and virtual colonography.

Your role will involve supporting the patient throughout their CT journey. This includes preparing the patients prior to their scan, cannulating the patient and preparing the contrast (xray dye), monitoring the patient during specialist procedures, providing emotional support and providing any necessary aftercare.

You will also assist the Radiographer and the multidisciplinary team to manage and improve the workflow to provide an excellent CT service.

Duties will also include performing administrative tasks and assisting with stock ordering and daily cleaning of the department.

Venepuncture and cannulation training will be provided to the successful candidate if required.

You’ll have access to varied development opportunities, learn new skills, meet fab people & do things you’d never have done.  You’ll learn about working in a hospital, interacting with people from all different roles to build skills & enhance your career path.
