Teaching, training and continuous Medical education

The trust is a Teaching trust with a large and increasing number of medical students having their full training within the trust from year three onwards. In addition, there is commitment for teaching and training of junior medical staff within the department.

The Clinical Fellow (middle grade) will contribute to:

  • Formal and informal teaching of Medical students.

  • Assistance with the training of others junior medical staff, including clinical techniques appropriate to Child Health.
  • Teaching to nurses and other professions allied to medicine.

Opportunities for clinical research exist within the directorate, and the specialty doctors are encouraged to participate in existing and new research.   Applications for research grants may also be made to the Trust’s Research and Development Committee for short-term projects not exceeding three years.  Participation in research activities is encouraged.
