Job overview

 

We are seeking to recruit a skilled individual to provide high quality, professional administrative and reception support on the Churchill Oncology Unit.  The unit provides chemotherapy and supportive treatments along with oncology outpatient clinics.

 

Main duties of the job

 

The main duties of the post will be to provide reception duties welcoming patients and their families to the unit.   Managing appointments via the hospital systems and ensuring outcomes are recorded.

The post holder will receive all phone calls from patients, their families and health care professionals and will prioritise and triage calls.

You will work within the Churchill Unit team which is part of the wider cancer services team.    You will also work closely with Clinical Nurse specialists and Consultants from Christie hospital who have regular clinics on the unit.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education, including English, to GCSE A to C or equivalent
  • RSA II typing or equivalent level of knowledge and ability

Experience & Skills

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of and ability to operate information systems and databases
  • Computer literate
  • Understanding of and ability to operate information systems and databases
Desirable criteria
  • Work in a health care setting

Knowledge
