We are looking for a full time Scrub Band 7 Clinical Manager for Chorley Theatres. This opportunity will consist of a working clinically & non-clinically to support the theatre teams as well as undertaking leadership duties.

Chorley Theatres currently have 13 theatres with over 14 specialities (including fortnightly elective day case paediatric lists). The elective hub service is progressive and vibrant that requires a Clinical Manager who has the drive and passion to lead, develop and motivate the theatre teams and support them by being a visible and strong role model.
Main duties of the job
You will need to have extensive scrub experience, working within the theatre environment. You will need to provide leadership and direction to the team, capitalising on research and development opportunities.
You will need to engage with all staff and students providing clinical supervision and advice to support them in reaching their full potential.
You need to be proactive and have a positive approach in identifying issues and implementing standards that create a safe, clean, and organised environment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Scrub Clinical Manager will promote and ensure the maintenance of high clinical standards and professional practice in the clinical environment, by providing strong leadership and direction to the team, monitoring and maintaining standards of care and professional practice.
Responsible for monitoring specialist theatre budgets, identifying potential areas for savings and efficiencies to ensure cost efficient service delivery.
Maintains links with specialities to ensure effective work stream planning and implementation to maximise effective theatre utilisation.
Be responsible for ensuring the planning, delivery, and evaluation of care to meet the personalised health and wellbeing care needs of patients, in line with the Trust’s Values, HCPC and Nursing & Midwifery Professional Framework
Act as a role model providing direction, clinical supervision and advice for other staff and students to support them in reaching their full potential. Clinically work to support the theatres to provide leadership to the team.
To ensure the productive operation of the clinical area ensuring the maintenance of a safe, clean, and organised environment.
Implement policies and procedures to ensure effective theatre utilisation.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse/ODP with current NMC/ HCPC Registration
- Degree in related subject or working towards
- NMC recognised Mentorship qualification
- Specialist qualification in • scrub practice or portfolio of evidence of extensive scrub experience (scrub posts)
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
- Level 4 ILM (Institute of leadership and Management) or equivalent.
- Surgical First Assistant qualification (scrub posts)
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Able to perform extended clinical scrub duties
- Evidence of expert clinical competence in area of speciality
- Awareness of changes in practice and the ability to implement change.
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance and the relevance to practice
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures
- Knowledge of ethical issues
Desirable criteria
- Experience of budgetary management

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
