Job overview

 Band 4 Business admin support role available to work across teams and services, working closely with clinicians and teams delivering a supportive admin service to the Speech and Language Therapy, Stroke and Neuro services and leadership team.

The service operating hours are Monday- Friday 8.30- 4.30pm 

You will supervise and delegate to a Band 3 Clinical Team Administrator, and ensure delivery of service.

This is an exciting role for the right person, with full support.

We offer regular supervision and training 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day line management of the Clinical Team Administrator providing effective leadership, coaching and mentoring as required to support the delivery of high-quality administration services. 

The post holder will be responsible for the development and maintenance of SharePoint and other relevant web-based systems as required.

Deputise/provide cover for Business Support Administrators across Therapies as required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post is designed to support the Head of Service, Therapies Leadership Team and clinical teams providing an efficient and effective business support administration service in line with the Directorate’s key operational and performance requirements (including HR, Performance, Governance/Patient Safety and Finance.

The post holder will work closely with the Assistant Business Manager in the design and delivery of administrative processes that support delivery of Trust/Divisional and Directorate policy and procedures.

 

The post holder will work as a member of the Therapies Business Support Administrator Team assisting with the development, delivery and performance management of all administrative processes required for the effective and efficient delivery of procedures across the Therapies Directorate.

 

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of agreed administrative systems and processes across their designated service areas and Directorate wide in line with agreed procedures and protocols. Responsible for identifying issues, risks and opportunities for improvement in relation to business support processes. 

Person specification

Essential

Essential criteria
  • Grade 4 /equivalent English Language
  • NVQ Level 3 Business Administration or equivalent level of experience or education
  • Experience in a similar role with in-depth knowledge of Business Administration systems and processes
  • A proven record of being able to work within set timeframes working to priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of Office 365/MS Teams, including intermediate Word, Excel, PowerPoint & relevant software.
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS or similar organisation.
  • Experience of administrative staff management, including sickness absence, training and development and performance management i.e., 1:1’s, appraisals
  • Project support and management of associated documentation
  • Leadership or Management qualification eg. Action Centred Leadership
