Main duties of the job

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our expanding team of staff in Clinical Research.  The post is ideal for individuals who wish to expand their knowledge and skills to pursue a career in clinical research.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful applicant will be a UK registered nurse or health care professional, with a strong interest in health research.  Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential and a flexible approach to work is a key element of this role.

The post holder will manage a portfolio of NIHR Research studies and will focus on the delivery and growth of research activity across our community settings, and covering other clinical areas where needed. The post holder will be required to deliver and support patient focused research alongside the multidisciplinary team, safely and effectively managing the care of patients enrolled onto trials.

Education

Essential criteria
  • First Degree
  • Postgraduate diploma level training in research or other relevant area
Desirable criteria
  • GCP/ICH recognised training.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working autonomously and as part of a Multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to demonstrate evidence of Service Improvement.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within a clinical community care setting.
  • Experience of working with a a research setting.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Highly effective communication skills. Advance organisational skills.
  • Able to manage work autonomously and manage own workload.
  • Demonstrable IT Skills – able to use Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the clinical trial process.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
