Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clerical officer to work in the Specialist Palliative care team supporting the therapy and wider team, within the Integrated Community Services Division at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with a positive attitude and excellent organisational skills, good attention to detail and working experience of LE2.2

The successful applicant will provide general clerical duties and be responsible for accurate data input, processing referrals,  booking appointments, taking telephone calls and other administrative duties

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of working in a similar administrative environment.

The post is a part -time 16 hours position on permeant contract.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and clerical functions 

The post holder will be expected to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the desire to work in a patient focussed environment,  also the need to have good IT and organisational skills, with the ability to deal sensitively and confidently with people over the telephone, as well as work effectively as part of the team. The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines is essential. 

The ability to work using  own initiative and without direct supervision.

  • GCSE Level Mathematics and English - Grade C or above
Desirable criteria
  • IT Qualification

Knowledge and Experience

  • Working as a clerical officer or office administrator
  • Computing and telephone skills
Desirable criteria
  • Use of NHS computer systems (LE2.2)
  • Stock ordering
  • Customer service experience
  • NHS experience
  • Appriciation of palliative care conditions
