Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced band 3 administrator, to join the community IV therapy team.
This is a fantastic development opportunity for experienced NHS Band 3 staff who are eager to aspire and progress in their role. NHS clinic experience and regular use of LE2.2 is an essential criteria for this role.
This position is a 30 hour contract Monday –Friday, hours could include working until 1900 hours, will be required to meet the needs of service delivery.
This position is based at Breightmet health centre within the teams office
Main duties of the job
The role involves tasks such as:-
- Assisting in the delivery of administrative support and reception services within an integrated operational service environment
- To organise, manage and maintain the use of information systems and meet quality and performance standards
- To ensure robust clerical systems are maintained, including archiving system and clinic preperation
- To plan, organise and implement the clerical and administrative processes of the team, demonstrating effective office skills.
- To provide clerical support to the team leader, team coordinator, and other members of the team as appropriate and necessary. This will include supporting the flow of discharge from hospital to the IV Team by printing new patients notes and entering patients details onto Civica scheduling system.
- To plan ahead and prep notes for clinics through the week, book patients appointments using IT systems in place and communication with patient, receive phone calls from clinic patients requesting to rearrange appointments, and rebook as necessary.
- To answer the office phones, appropriately actioning these phone calls - eg, arrange / rearrange clinic appointments, or take messages and communicate these to registered to clinical staff regarding new OPAT patients
- To have an understanding of NHS supplies and Integra ordering systems to support with stock ordering and stock control.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of Business Support services.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- English and Maths GCSE level or equivelant
- NVQ Business administration / secretarial qualifications to level 3 or equivalent experience
- Previous administration / clerical experience in an office based setting
- Evidence of continued professional development
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Able to organise own workload
- An understanding of the service, relevant legislation
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of Integrated Community Service Division
Experience
Essential criteria
- Ablility to take minutes of meetings directly to laptop / computer
- Previous admin / clerical experience
- Experience of using a range of computer software packages and programmes
- Experience of using IT systems in place within the NHS
- Experience of working in a office environment and dealing with telephone enquiries
- Evidence of managing, organising and maintaining information systems
- NHS clinic experience
Desirable criteria
