An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Officer to join the Procurement Team at Atlas BFW Management Ltd.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your procurement career in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Candidates must also demonstrate an understanding of the forthcoming changes to Procurement Regulations.
Main duties of the job
As a Procurement Officer, the main duties of the role will involve, but is not limited to:
- Work with the Procurement Manager to develop and deliver a comprehensive and maintained sourcing plan, focused on delivering prioritised customer needs.
- Lead of tendering activities via the Atamis system
- Provide line management for the Procurement Administrator role
- Apply commercial acumen and utilise skills to deliver in a complex changing environment
- Apply innovative and strategic thinking to continuous service improvement initiatives and be prepared to challenge historical practice when appropriate, ensuring best practice is adopted which improves the efficiency and effectiveness of the Procurement team.
- Assist the Procurement Manager with the operational management and performance monitoring of the whole Procurement team in line with departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
- This is an office-based role based at Blackpool Victoria Hospital in Blackpool with the flexibility of home working to suit the demands of the role and department. This will be discussed in detail at interview stage.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their application of procurement, commercial & negotiation skills; relationship management for internal and external stakeholders. - Demonstrable record of continuing professional development.
Desirable criteria
- Formal relevant professional qualification e.g. Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or equivalent training and experience

- Willingness to cover for other members of the team during absences.
- The ability to work as part of a team or independently.
- Advanced IT skills with knowledge of specialist software for contract management, electronic catalogue, and e-procurement systems. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power-Point.
Experience and Knowledge: Specialist
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience of working in a contract or procurement environment and of managing staff within this environment.
- Experience of using a contract management system to evidence obtaining value for money and delivering a quality service to end customers.
- Experience of contract negotiations, demonstrable influencing and negotiation skills and evidence of leading procurement initiatives.
- Experience of working with other departments to develop comprehensive and accurate specifications for goods and or services in a timely manner.
- Demonstrable evidence of providing commercial and or contractual advice and guidance to both senior and junior staff from other departments.
- Experience of working with specialists to draft contracts for the purchase of goods and services. Evidence of reviewing contracts for goods and services.
- Evidence of ongoing training and development to ensure that these skills are kept up to date and relevant.
- Experience of preparing overall and specific contract reports which are used to inform senior management of the status of all contracts.
- Evidence of gaining an understanding managing contracts & tenders in a regulated environment
- Experience within a complex and challenging environment.
- Experience of managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
