Safeguarding Practitioner (Exploitation)

We currently have a vacancy within the LSCFT Safeguarding Team for a Safeguarding Practitioner for Child Exploitation to support the Trust’s commitment to safeguard and protect vulnerable Adults, Children and Families.
Safeguarding is integral to governance arrangements within LSCFT and we are looking for someone with leadership experience and of providing high standards of care to the most vulnerable children and adults in our society. The successful applicant must demonstrate a passion for safeguarding children, adults and their families and share the teams commitment to deliver services that are reliable, of high quality and safe in an area of work that is demanding, challenging yet extremely rewarding.
This role is embedded within the Contextual Safeguarding Team of LSCFT working alongside other specialist practitioners based within Exploitation Teams across Lancashire.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
The Band 6 Safeguarding Practitioner for Exploitation will be one of three nurses providing direct health support within a multi-agency team dedicated to tackling criminal and sexual exploitation of children and young people.
They will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to identify unmet health needs of Exploited Children and Young People and address them at earliest opportunity using a shame sensitive approach. The Nurse will use trauma informed practice to complete holistic health assessments and health screening of care records to identify any indicators of vulnerability towards exploitation. This will enable the specialist practitioner to develop hand-holding as part of their practice.
A comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding children, young people and adults is essential although support and opportunities for professional development will be available through the wider safeguarding team’s skill mix
